I have ordered some NYXL 9-42s and eagerly await their arrival. In the meantime, can you guys at D'Addario comment on pitch stability as it impacts intonation stability. I have found that when you install brand-new strings and tune up open EADGBE and then adjust the bridge to get perfect intonation on one-octave higher EADGBE (by fretting the 12th fret), if you then start playing your guitar normally, then after a week or so, you check the intonation and it's gone bad (fretting the 12th fret results in the note being too sharp in pitch). Can you comment on what's happening and what I can do to maintain good intonation at all times? Will the NYXLs have better intonation stability since the strings are supposed to maintain pitch stability in the first place?

I really hope they keep making these strings...tests like this mean nothing to me because while they appear quite methodical on the surface, the results can be doctored quite easily that being said, the strings do stay remarkably in tune and seem to be tough as hell...I started using these when I switched over to 8's last year and they've been brilliant...I'm not a "premium string" guy, typically and I think there's a lot of snake oil being peddled out there but these don't fall into that category...they're the one set of pricey strings I've played and believed I was getting my money's worth and not just being sold on some gimmick

This video would have been better with no editing cuts, one single continuos shot.

Can we look forward to a 8 string 9 to 65 set please? I'm using the ibanez set but if these are as good as you say they are I wouldn't mind using them permanently and also working towards an endorsement with you guy :)

is it possible to do coated NYXL strings? that would be really nice as well because i really need coated strings. also i tested the 9-42 NYXL stings and i thought they were really nice but because every uncoated string i touch is pretty much going to rust after about half a day i have to use EXP strings instead.

As I don't have a tremolo, I will keep buying the strings from one of your competitor !

Now they just have to make strings that last more than a week without going dull.

This test does not mean a damn thing if you don't reveal the competitor strings and show that they are in tune at the beginning.

I used to use GHS Boomers, no complaints then I tried D'Addario plain old 10-46 and loved them. I will also use the Blues/Jazz 11's depending how my arthritis fingers are feeling. $3.00 and change a pack, you can't really beat them :-)

I'm still not 100% convinced that these are good enough to spend $13 on.

If that has a true floating tremolo, then the results are skewed because he holds his finger on the string adjacent to the one he plucks for testing, thereby lowering the pitch of the plucked string. Since pressing down a string brings the tremolo in a bit. If that pneumatic tester holds the tremolo in a perfectly locked state, then disregard this post.

Fail: You didn't show proof at the beginning, that they were all in tune, equally.
