D-Sisive is the stage name of Derek Christoff, a Canadian rapper, best known for his Juno Award-nominated EP The Book and his 2009 Polaris Music Prize-nominated album Let the Children Die.[1]

He first emerged in the late 1990s with a number of independent singles which were popular in the Toronto hip hop scene, but took a six-year break from performing and writing due to a battle with depression following his father's death in 2001.[2]

His bout of writer's block came to an end when he was unexpectedly inspired by lyrics spontaneously coming to him while singing along to The Beach Boys' "Wouldn't It Be Nice" on the radio — lyrics that became his breakthrough hit, "Brian Wilson".[2] He signed to URBNET Records, which released The Book on June 3, 2008 and Let the Children Die on May 3, 2009.

@sugarbearsid Don't be a tool. You're out of your element if you think you can just spout facts without actually checking them. This song was released in 2001 on DJ Serious Scartch vol.1. Unlike you I actually listened to this song in high school and find it ridiculous that you get to erase that fact with your ignorance.

@sugarbearsid "When “Popped,” a condemnation of pop music from DJ Serious’s Dim Sum compilation in 2000, resulted rather ironically in worldwide attention for D-Sisive, interest from the major labels followed. “Big headed like Christina Ricci,” as he explains it, D-Sisive wasted the opportunity presented to him" Thats from last fm. So kill Yourself Actually

@ccanuck83 Are you fucking kidding me. Please, no one ho comes here to listen to this believe this. The real slim shady came out in 2000 on Eminem's THIRD ALBUM. This song came out in 2010. If you're gonna try to feed some line about how it got "released" in 2010 but was out for a lot longer...no....just no. He mentions the death of LFO Singer Rich Cronin which took place in early September 2010. Seriously..Kill yourself.
