True story. If this song implies Tim is gay then it really implies that he has been a preacher for over 20 years of his life too. I don't think it's an attack on the hypocrisy of religion, per se (as FourleftFiveright suggested) but there's no shortage of that on the rest of the album ("Retreat!", in particular) so it's definitely implied.

Tim writes songs from many peoples perspectives, especially in this album, half of its about having a job you don't like and I'm sure Cursive all love their jobs. Its funny how bands get shit for doing this. just look at what happened to Propagandhi, a band a bunch of ppl stopped liking because they wrote a song about homophobia even though they are not gay themselves. They proved their own point from ppls reaction.

It's about the hypocrisy of religion. Hence the pun for a title.

Troll face. If you honestly think this song is not about being homosexual and in love, then you're an idiot. Listen to the lyrics.

@nickcommie I agree; King's comment was totally out of line. My best friend was gay and I can GUARANTEE that she was 10 times the person that little prejudiced prick is.

@dakingthief - wow, you're a homophobic moron, and that is offensive.

I think this song might be about homophobia, but I like to think that my favorite bands are straight. no offense
