Culpepers Orchard var et fantastisk godt band. De har deres helt egen lyd, men minder også en del om Jethro Tull. Nogle af sangene er lidt country agtige. Alt I alt, et rigtigt godt dansk Prog Rockn roll band.

Culpepers Orchard where a Danish band. Playing mostly Prog Folk/Rock and some blues now and then. They sound a little like early Jethro Tull, but are still very different. This is definitely one of the best danish groups of all time!

Nicholas Culpeper (1616 - 1654) was an English botanist, psychologist and astrologer. He is known for his work with herbs, for use against diseases and was against the doctors from his time. Lawyers and Priests used Latin as there Internal language to demean the normal citizen, who didn't understand that language. Culpeper's Orchard was formed in 1969, their name was made as a memorial for Nicholas Culpeper.

I'm getting this album and a bunch other Scandinavian classics including some obscure ones in the mail soon from DANMARK! I'm huge into beat/pop psych/psych/progressive rock from there and they had the best music. There is something really special about bands like Ache, Burnin Red Ivanhoe, Culpeper's Orchard, Made In Sweden, Ola & The Janglers, The Floor I could name a zillion bands from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland that blow the lid off anything else from anywhere else. Having Cy Nicklin gave Culpeper's a strong voice and great songwriting. The whole band are great musicians and all their songs on the first 2 albums are classics. The third and fourth each get a little lesser and that was because they wanted to get more "American" sounding than the west coast sound they had earlier. I haven't heard much of the last one, but Going For A Song is a good country rock as opposed to rural progressive album. I prefer the insane tempos and melodic psych phrasings of the first two. Unfortunately, if you are looking for their albums or any others from Scandinavia you'll probably half to get them from there. The amount of talent and lack of sales is astonishing. There was no promotion outside of Scandinavia for these bands. Fucking shame, but if you go looking for this album and find it you'll have your mind blown by it!
