An excellent performance of Neil's tune! David always sings the hell out of it.

One of the dead students was in ROTC, he was just trying to get to a class and was taking a short cut across the campus. JFK, RFK, MLK, then Kent State and it continues.

Nixon called out the soldiers. During the Occupy WallStreet Era, no soldiers were called out, but cops abused protestors....cops in the US are mostly a bunch of sociopaths.

Kent State and Davis are a perfect parallel. The details differ, but the power differential and attempt to silence people illegally are the same.

I hardly think a handful of cops using a piss poor but non-lethal procedure on people breaking the law can be compared to soldiers gunning down college students.

Can you imagine our own shooting and killing our young people ? one of the most dark times in our country's history

Wasn't it pepper spray in Davis? Selectively applied to individuals standing still? By a small handful of campus police? No cadre of soldiers armed with assault rifles shooting at students, no? I mean I get your comparison, sort of, but isn't it a stretch?

No one have the right to kill someone, You have the right to protest, but police can't have the right to kill. PEACE AND LOVE

@Honker66 There was a lot of distrust on either side. Of course the guardsmen couldn't be ultimately blamed because they had no idea of what was happening. In fact no one did. I think the kids knew more than the gov, pres, or guard did about freedom. I was in school the spring semester after having served 4 l-o-n-g years. It was a day that people should remember because there is no one on the streets now protesting the kind of shagging we're getting from DC.

@lovelyrita1951 Most of them were college kids to. I know 2 of them ended up killing themselves. I live about 10 minutes from Kent State. If you ever close you should visit. Remember to ring the victory bell down behind Taylor Hall in memory of those who died.

i often think of those young idealistic, peaceful students at kent state, who in their quest for peace charged armed nat. guardsmen ,and i think what idiots! i just wish barry soetoro could have been there .as for charges ,i would have reviewed the video of the students and identified who i could and charged them with manslaughter for the deaths o f sandra scheuer and william schroeder. its not always black and white but i can only hope our enemies always show up un-armed

Very tragic day at Kent State. I often thought about those guardsmen who fired on innocent students and wonder how they've lived with themselves. Very turbulent times but certainly will never forget growing up then. Amazing on so many levels.

@rolandrog That's right, you turn around and you try to help, YES, you sacrifice your life. That's what they did and I've carried their message my whole life. It shaped my World. And here we are again. I didn't have children intentionally. I worry about my nieces & nephews & their children. What will happen to them cuz they were taught u were free here. That's what we told them! Now if they say something might happen to something if something is/isn't done. <
