Part Three – Sericulture: The Cultivation of SilkThe video talked about how the silk originated with the silkworms and talked about the process of making the silk into clothes. How the cocoons of the silkworms are placed in boiling water, where the filaments are drawn out by the silk reeling machines. And it really fascinates me how this was possible with the knowledge the Chinese people at the time this was created. Also, it talked about how weaving silk is the most unique and cultivated Chinese craftsman ship. And because of this, people worshiped silk because it brought them fortune from the trading they had with it. Lastly, in the video it states because of the changing of modern culture, sericulture and traditional weaving handicrafts are endangered of being lost. Although many of the people started recognizing the silk and its tradition and made museums about it, and is talked about in library and museums keeping the culture of silk alive.
