America sure is the home of all that was good in the music of the fifties. Just a succession of great groups now gone but won't be forgotten thanks to you Chrysler.

Great vocal group harmony, long before it was called doo wop. This song hit #20 in 1960. J.T. Carter is the only member of The Crests left now.
R.I.P. Johnny Maestro (May 7, 1939-March 24, 2010) ♫♥♫♥♫

calling all angels, calling all angels, calling all angels, wooh ooh ooh. Can't beat it. And talk about making history with guys from different races singing together for public audiences. It's one of the things I love about music. It can definitely bring people together.

Their group diversity was a very courageous step at that time but proved to be very successful for them. They also had a black female, Pat Vandross, (related to Luther) in their group for a short time. None of this mattered to anyone of my large group of school chums. None of us ever criticized this mixed race group. We were more focused on the great harmony between these four (five) young singers. Wish we still had The Crests, but we still have Maestro, and how very fortunate we are for that!

Funny thing, and I was actually born
the year this was recorded, in those days,
to be the lead singer of a group, you had
to be an excellent singer with a great voice.
Johnny Maestro certainly was that.
