Crested Hens (Les Poules Huppées) is an ethereal melody composed in 1983 by French hurdy-gurdy player Gilles Chabenat and here performed with exquisite interpretation (the best version in my opinion) by the Irish folk group Solas from their self-titled debut album released in 1996. I have decorated it here with landscapes of a lovely, graceful, slender lass. The Solas album has other wonderful, lively and gentle songs, some with vocals -- an excellent buy!

I can play this beautiful song on the flute and wanted to hear it played by another instrument. I was disenchanted by the vulgar posturing of the woman in the video. I guess I will listen with my eyes closed in the future.10 years ago
