This was technically a Golliwogs' track, recorded as it was when they were still saddled with that group name, albeit in their last few months as such. In a sense, the derivativeness of this tune (in this case, to the Motown sound) was more in league with the prior Golliwogs efforts than what would come to be associated with CCR (as would apply to the flip of this tune, the haunting "Porterville").

One of the weirdest (and best) "lost" tunes that a major band ever released... It's not really a Golliwogs (ie; British Invasion influenced) tune, nor a Creedence (R&B/ Swamp Rock) tune, either. It kind of stands alone in the CCR catalog.

The 45 on which this was originally released (b/w "Porterville") happened to be the last to be issued under their previous group name, The Golliwogs - and in a sense, this song does serve as a goalpoint marking the end of the Golliwogs era - while "Porterville" anticipated the eventual "CCR" sound.

Yeah lol. I was thinking during the credits "is that John Fogerty/CCR?" it sort of sounded like them, but it's very different to their other stuff :D
