it's kind of a Jazz tune now...not that there's anything wrong with that...

I am sorry, but the version on 4 Way Street is superior on the two criteria of vocals and purity of performance. Crosby's vocals on that tour were legendary.

I thought they did a good job finding a new mode for the song, that it 'moved over' pret' dang well. Only a few moments seemed kind strained,of out of place.

@Fireperv Couldn't agree more. The instrumental chops of guitarist Jeff Pevar and David's son James Raymond on keyboards really make this Byrds-era song soar. Raymond's solo sounds for all the world like fusion artist Neil Larsen at his best.

....I remember first listening to this song on the flight line at Barksdale Air Force Base in the middle of the night guarding aircraft in 1971 on my way to Vietnam.........Where have the last 40 years gone to??????........I'll be 58 years old this month and still waiting for Tim Burton to produce/direct his version of 'THE WIZARD OF OZ' because David Crosby would be perfect for the Lion!!!!!..........

Pretty good but I really think the original style of this song (Byrds, JA, CSNY) fits the mood better. Thanx for sharing this with us I voted "THUMBS UP" rating

Like this very much, One of my fave Crosby songs, I,ve got a boot of David and the Dorks ( Crosby with various Dead members) and it leads into a very Jazz based jam, this reminds me of that , but played throughout the song, much of Crosby's work has a very Jazz influence especially his almost " scat " vocal style It's sort of the Byrds meet Steely Dan and Steely Dan win ..Just.
