Seeing in how they play different instruments and in different kinds of bands. Neil Peart is one of the best percussionists ever ... that cannot be discounted. Joe Strummer was a musical genius. Both are amazing in their own right. To say one is better than the other is nothing more than an opinion. I would venture to bet that you can find just as many people who think otherwise. Personally, I like Strummer better myself as well but both men have had a major influence on music.
