"I Fought The Law" by the Bobby Fuller Four happens to be a cover too! It is by The Crickets in 1960. The same Crickets that originally played with Buddy Holly.Since you included the Ramones, I was surprised you didn't put in their cover of "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" by Tom Waits. Their version was a bit more light hearted by Tom Waits' version is a bit scary and very real.

Zep had a lot of good covers, but one of the best was "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You".

Some of these covers are better, but not most of them. They are different, and some to different to try and compare. It's all subjective of course. And no you do not know covers. You have earned your enemies,I now see why...

If you want to consider covers by the Clash, don't take the easy route by using the Bobby Fuller Four. You should've chosen "Police on My Back," originally by The Equals. Orgy's version of "Blue Monday" is better than New Order's too, because it combines new wave and the buzzing guitars of alternative rock. And for the record, I still like Grand Funk's cover of "The Loco-Motion" way better than the original.

Think you were spot on accept the "Halleluah" mention In my humble opinion the best cover would be fro K. D. Lang. Nobody can touch it. Very entertaining series. Keep it up.

I agree with this list except for Baker Street. The original was the best version hands down. Btw, All Along the Watchtower should've been on here and Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin.

I thought nirvana's version of "Lake of Fire" (originally performed by the meat puppets) was fantastic and even better than their version of "The Man Who Sold the World"

Santana's cover of the Fleetwood Mac Black Magic Woman. Supposedly Mick Fleetwood said he would never perform it again after hearing Santana's rendition.

If any people want to hear an actual good cover of I fought the law look up The Dead Kennedys version.
