Cornmeal perform their song "Burn My Body Down" in this music video recorded at the SecondStoryGarage.com studio inside the Daily Camera newsroom in Boulder, Colorado.

Cornmeal celebrated the 15th anniversary of its first show earlier this year. The Chicago-based band is popular among jamgrass fans throughout the country and is a regular visitor to bluegrass hot spots of the Front Range. They stopped by the Garage on a recent visit to the state with a new lineup and songs from their new album, Slow Street, due out in May.

Founders Chris Gangi on bass and Wavy Dave Burlingame on 5-string banjo were accompanied by Scott Tripping on acoustic guitar, Drew Littel on drums and Phil Roach on fiddle. Roach replaces past member Allie Kral, who performed in the Garage in October with Yonder Mountain String Band’s new lineup.

Cornmeal gave us a Slow Street preview with renditions of “Old Virginia” and “All Things Must Change.” They also played “Burn My Body Down” before their engaging interview with Quentin.

The same fans who pack Leftover Salmon shows just eat up the blend of bluegrass flavors and rock textures that Cornmeal cooks up. We got a good taste of it in this session.

What they brought us: A “Scarlet Letter” fan and a button with a photo of button enthusiast Wavy Dave Burlingame, who’s wearing a button with a picture of himself, posing with a fan.

This might be the fastest banjo picking we've ever seen.
