The title track on the "Condemned" album from 1991.

If Metal music could be translated into paintings,

"Condemned" would be a Picasso.

Line up:

Scott Jeffreys - vocals

Brian Shoaf - guitar

Ivan Colon - guitar

Cary Rowells - bass

Steve Shelton - drums

Lyrics:

Joining me in your search of peace,

the latest findings in your quest for pain.

You reach, I resist, I forgive, you condemn,

your expressions to condemn.

Condemned is everyone's belief,

if not the same as yours.

Fantastic views of reality,

seduction of your burning mind.

You reach, I resist, I forgive, you condemn

your expressions to condemn.

Difference of opinion,

my way is not like yours.

Difference of opinion,

that doesn't mean I'm wrong!

People don't realize this is the most difficult kind of metal vocal style to sing. FUCK THEM, This is what I look for in a metal band, HIGH PITCH FUCKING VOCALS. I think its an awesome combination, heavy low guitars and high vocals.

I'm gonna venture a guess and say that guys capable of making music this sophisticated and innovative were smart enough to know their metal history and whose shoulders they stood on.

Don't always have to color in between the lines or use the blue crayon for the sky and the green crayon for the grass... things that "fit" sometimes don't create enough contrast and tension which given the sheer complexity of this music provides the listener with something to grab on to - without it the listener might get lost. Plus it was the 90's. Everyone in the arts was experimenting. It felt like a Renaissance.

The vocals fit the music fine. You may not like them, but don't argue for one second that they don't fit the music because you're dead wrong.
