Don't always have to color in between the lines or use the blue crayon for the sky and the green crayon for the grass... things that "fit" sometimes don't create enough contrast and tension which given the sheer complexity of this music provides the listener with something to grab on to - without it the listener might get lost. Plus it was the 90's. Everyone in the arts was experimenting. It felt like a Renaissance.12 years ago
