Were you at this concert?  I was and I'm trying to remember who opened for them.  My memory says Jeff Buckley but I feel unsure about it.

I think it's their stupid name. I love this band and have been listening to them since the beginning...but, really, Concrete Blonde is pretty hard to swallow.

Awesome band! my favorite is Chibi(The Birthday Massacre) and she is a big fan of this band. i decided to give them a try after reading about them on Chibi's Myspace page. there very very cool. Female fronted rock is the best kinda of rock out there.

"And any promise we make is as easy to break as the plastic people on a wedding cake" Great song. Thanks for posting!

Hmmm- Well, The song is great as usual but lets face it, if it wasn't for her, these guys would have never left the bar scene. I've been around long enough to see that. The rifs and drum sequences are basic even for the times. The talent gets funneled through her and delivered by that awesome, rough toned, woman. Gotta love it but she could do that with any band because she knows how to deliver. She's a natural lead.

I know I have the same question. How did they not get any bigger. The talent in Johnette she should be a household name. all these new singers like brittany spears? come on. I am seeing Concrete Blonde play in Hollywood monday June 28th 2010!

Yo Spade3.. i agree and have always wondered that. Everyone was like Joey this, Joey that. they were so much more than F..k..G joey. maybe they didn't wnt to sell there souls or water down there music. Also you almost have to be a fan to get there sound. You have to be a little patient. I dont think the homo's (literaly) of the music buisiness are patient at all. maybe CBlonde just wanted to crop dust. who knows. but, like you, I still keep coming back to them.

@spade333 I totally agree.... Johnettes anger and angst is exactly what I was feeling when I started listening to them..... Unbelievable band in concert and they changed my views on music.... Should have been much, much bigger than they are. Glad to see they are back touring again in 2010

@spade333 I totally feel ya on that one. And I'm the same... been listening since... hell, since forever (20 yrs?) and CB was just a constant companion through so much of my life. They are just a part of who I am now. No matter what else I listen to, or how old I get, CB has a piece of my heart and soul. I always think Johnette & Jim need to write a memoir about coming up in LA and putting CB together. Probably be an incredible read.

no matter, the fact is one of the few really great bands in our lifetime that went under the radar in a good way I think ie; the best things go unnoticed by the status quo.

"There's nothing that you need I can't deliver" great line. Saw them live 3x, always a passionate show.
