Composer Joey Newman was born into a rich dynasty of composers, including his relatives Alfred Newman, Thomas Newman, David Newman and cousin Randy Newman. And while he originally trained as a drummer, Joey has staked out his own territory in the realm of music for picture. He earned an Emmy nomination for his score to the TV series Little People, Big World, and just wrapped the third season of the hit family comedy The Middle. Any Day Now, a feature-length indie film that Joey scored, is premiering at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival. Right after his incredibly popular Film/TV Scoring Feedback panel at the 2012 ASCAP EXPO, we interviewed Joey about his music, his family, and the impact that feedback has had on his own career.
