Coming from a life long AiC fan, it's kinda bitter sweet having DuVall as a part of AiC. I've recently really gotten into Comes with the Fall and they were fantastic. I'm really hoping to see some more of him on the new album. 'Last of my Kind' is an excellent song. I personally kinda had the impression that DuVall was more of an inexperienced musician. After listening to Comes with the Fall, I was dead wrong. That cat can sing and play as good as the rest of them.

I don't always think he sounds like somebody else. Sometimes I think he sounds unique. But it's like Jerry Cantrell said in Grunge is Dead: most musicians these days sound as though they're trying to emulate someone else before landing their own sound.
