I just watched this movie for the first time. I picked it b/c I like Dennis Quaid and movies based on real life events. This was a great movie and when I first heard this song at their wedding, I loved it. What a beautiful piece! Will probably buy the soundtrack and watch the movie again! I would have missed both the movie and this piece if I hadn't stumbled across this movie.

I recently saw this movie in its entirety and purchased it from Amazon. As someone who is 1/2 Japanese (my mother) I found it extremely moving, and the soundtrack sounded very Vangelis-like. And, the fact Alan Parker directed this, who also directed Evita speaks to my Argentinian father!

This has always been one of my most favorite films! I wish I could find the sheet music to this!!! Every time I go to a local train museum, I keep asking myself if this is one of the passenger cars that was used during the times to haul the poor innocent civilians to those God-awful camps!

Wonderful movie. I bought this for my parents as a gift and they both love it. My mother is from Vietnam and my dad was a soldier in the Vietnam War. Although this movie is from a different war, the Asian ties are there. As a mixed girl myself I appreciated this movie a lot. God bless mixed kids!
