Normally when other ppl cover an original song I love i hate it because they ruin the original. Esp bob dylans song. Some make money out of it too like Adele. She i think ruined the song trying to be too good with vocal. Here coldplay sang quite decently i think. I love bob Dylan and Love the original sound of it, fans of bob would know what I mean

Dylan's voice was perfect for this song - fragile, imperfect, hurt, real, raw, true. That's the point about what he writes and why no other songwriter has had anything approaching his influence. Before dylan everyone tried to sing like Elvis, after dylan so many tried to sing like him with the sneering, rough, real voice - from cobain, lydon, ian brown, jagger to Liam gallagher. If you want sweet, sugar coated vocals singing pop songs that say nothing, don't listen to dylan. As for this cover, better lyrics than anything Coldplay could ever write but a decent performance.

Why are all these people hating? It's a cover - you know, even pop bands are allowed to do them from time to time. I respect them just for covering Dylan - the audience was probably impatient because it was a folk song. I might be the only time some of them ever hear "Simple Twist of Fate." And it was a solid cover - as long as the words and chords are correct, people should be fine with it. "Tragically bad?" Please, this is better than many other covers I've heard. Simmer down.

i dont think covers have better vocals. every idiot on american idol has a generic "nice" voice. bob has a great fucking voice. when he first screams "he'd gone STRAAAAAIIIIGHT!!!" in the original that is the work of an effective singer. a very fucking good singer. hes not a singer, he's a vocalist. he sings words in his way of voice that is simple and beautiful. like john lennon and bob marley along with him, dylan has the raw voice not like a combination of soft blows, but a strong punch!
