Coldplay is an amazing band but I think your opinion is closed minded. There are many great bands out there. Coldplay can be extremely transparent with their lyrics. I'm not saying all of their songs are but some are definitely very straight forward love songs. Personally I thought the lyrics off the X&Y album were rather poor. Also, I don't think my disagreement with you means that I know nothing of real music and am ignorant.

I've been a coldplay fan since before I can remember! I went to the x&y concert and also the viva la vida concert. My friends criticize me because I listen to then! I don't know if anyone else has this, but it feels like their music is my'n, its been such a part of my life. So much actually that I can feel their passion in the music I'm a growing musician.
