Good, but not as good as the original. He keeps singing, "It felt like Christmas time" at the end of each verse, and that makes it less meaningful. With the Pretenders, she goes from, "He'll be back at Christmas time" to "It felt like Christmas time" to "It must be Christmas time," showing how her loneliness made her oblivious to the holiday.

This is actually not a Christmas song - this song was for Pretender's original guitarist James Honeyman-Scott who died from heart problems associated with cocaine use. This song was released 1 year after his death. Still a great song and the original is better than any cover I've heard IMHO. Chrissie Hynde is hard to beat.
