Those who fight fires are true American heroes, and too often forgotten and taken for granted. I first heard this song in 2008, and since then it's been my favorite song. it was written by James Keelaghan, but I prefer it sung by Cry Cry Cry. It's both a haunting and beautiful song. I can't wait to read "Young Men and Fire."

This incident was a failure in communication, a success in innovation, and a lesson learned. You don't have rotating teams. You need to be an effective communicator and have your team trust you. Neither of those things were true.

Published in 1992, the book "Young Men & Fire" gives and moving and accurate account of the tragedy at Mann Gulch. The author was Norman Maclean and his book featured extensive interviews with the three survivors. It is one of the best books I have ever read and is a must read for anyone who wants to understand what happened in Mann Gulch, Montana on August 5, 1949.

You will understand that unwanted moment when your brother’s friend (who’s been a loser always, I have to say) gets an unbelievable woman to fall in love with him in, like 3 weeks?! God, that materialized. I know I should be pleased for him nevertheless I would rather it to be me. He said he applied the the Cupid Love System (Google it). I wanna hide inside a cave instantly...

Fuck it. I'm pissed. My brother sleeps above me and he in recent times grew really good at getting ladies. The guy discovered the Master Attraction website by Jake Ayres (Search in Google). Now I hear him bringing women back. He's constantly getting women back. I hear it, which is nasty. If only he had not found that site. I'm envious!

Yeah, it should credit James Keelaghan; as an Alberta singer songwriter, I am sure he would be familiar with the story. This song, though, is damned near perfect.

Terrible tragedy in Arizona, yes, and I hope you don't think this is petty to mention at this time, but it's a pity whoever put this together didn't list the songwriter, James Keelaghan. He is a fabulous Canadian songwriter who deserves credit here.

God bless. I knew as soon as I heard the news about AZ I had to put this on my page in honor of them.

So sad about the 19 in Arizona. Thank you for your courageous service.

The fire shelters didn't help the 19 in Arizona. So very sad. And yes, RIP Wag.

This song came to me when I heard the tragic news. I've been familiar with this song for a number of years. I always found it haunting and strong, as I do much of Richard S's music. Yes, in tribute to the fallen fighters. My heart breaks for their families and friends.
