The definitive version of this traditional song. From their "Life of Riley's Brother" album released in 1999. I first heard their version of this song and it is my favorite still. Enjoy!

Colcannon is a Colorado based group which is comfortable playing in festivals to orchestras. They are outstanding musicians in their own right and formed as the band Colcannon in 1984 in Boulder Colorado. They were named ensemble-in-residence at The Colorado College, the first non-classical musical group to be awarded this position.

The group consists of :

Mick Bolger:

Mick Bolger who sings in both English and his native Irish (Gaelic). He also plays the bodhrán (the Irish goatskin drum). His stories and unexpected flights of humor keep audiences enthralled.

Mike Fitzmaurice:

Mike Fitzmaurice plays both guitar and acoustic bass in Colcannon. His musical tastes run from bluegrass to blues band to ballet orchestra. He is also a skilled composer.

Jean Bolger:

A fiddler of both power and technique, Jean began playing violin at the age of six: She brings great control to her fiery playing. She also composes and has a website devoted to teaching Irish fiddle tunes at www.irishfiddlecoach.com.

Brian Mullins:

Brian originally joined Colcannon as a guitarist and mandolin player in 1994. He has played many new insturments including the mandocello, cittern, erhu (Chinese spike fiddle) and flute. He is also a composer.

Cynthia Jaffe:

Colcannon's newest member, Cynthia has been performing in the Celtic music scene since 2002.

She is a multi-instrumentalist with classical roots, but has chosen to specialize in the Irish flute.

@WarrenZevonAddict I'm glad you enjoyed this. They are classical musicians in their own rights, but when they join together it is a pure delight! Thanks for your comment. You have made me think. I'm to move this to my main video!
