No copyright infringement intended. This is an absolutely phenomenal song from Coco Montoya's 2000 release, Suspicion. Mr. Montoya formerly played with John Mayall and the Blues Breakers, so he has a pristine blues pedigree. This particular song titled "Beyond the Blues" is a perfect example of a song that could have been a hit on rock radio in the 1970's, but in the new millennium it is relegated to a smaller audience and called blues, rather than rock or blues/rock. The definitions of musical genres certainly shift over time (much more quickly than tectonic plates it seems). This song has enough Hawaiian- Punch-Mascot-smashes-through-a-brick-wall-yelling-"Oh Yeah!"-guitar-power to prompt Joe Walsh to grab Dave Mustaine by the ear and force him to kick Michael Stipe in the shins. I have no idea what that means. Enjoy.
