NO drum replacement was done in this mix, this is a 100% acoustically recorded and mixed track: absolutely no supplementation, layering, or triggering was done (recorded on a DW Performance Series kit).

An enormous thanks to Bret Munoz from http://http://www.brettmunozphoto.com for providing the cameras for this shoot, I appreciate it VERY much.

All hand-held camera work by Jonathan Beltran.

Lighting by Jose Altonaga.

Filmed and recorded in the Drum Channel Green Room, Drum Channel Studios, Oxnard, California, USA. http://www.drumchannel.com

This video is part of The 101 Series and was filmed, edited, engineered, mixed, mastered, and produced in its entirety by Cobus Potgieter.

Ah.. the Foo Fighters. What a band.

I've been wanting to do a cover of theirs for AGES, but I absolutely love them and really wanted to take my time to do it justice. Sucky thing is, this cover was recorded 6 months ago and looking back: I keep thinking that I would have played it way differently now, haha. As most of you guys know, I record these songs in sets of a few songs each (usually for a continuous hour or so) and this song was at the end of one of the sets.. so I was quite tired. I had SO much fun (which is why I'm posting this) but I wish I had a bit more energy when recording this.

Rest assured, though.. that I will do some more Foo songs. Yup.

who the fuck are these bands they play??? What happened to Rush, Maiden, Zep?? Why would you do mike jackson "Bad" for a cover. I think they want to appeal to a younger crowd. The girlies.

This guys drum kit sounds better than coops for some reason..its more crisp and clean, no echo. You can tell the difference in "Burn"

Honestly, not the best Cobus cover. This makes me appreciate Taylor Hawkins so much more... it's so hard to mimic his sound. Technically, this song is not super difficult, but no one drums it as well at Taylor (who Dave Grohl considers to be one of the best rock drummers of all time). Most of Cobus's covers elevate the drumming, but this one not so much.
