COATED HEADS REVIEW

The Same Drum

The Same Tuning (TuneBot verified)

The Same stick

The Same Drummer

Let's talk Heads!!

Is it the shell,the tuning,the touch,the sticks?

For sure ALL of these factors do count but ,by creating an environment with only variable on each test, we give our customer an opportunity for a more "scientific" outcome.

Enjoy this new series of videos produced by 247drums.

A wonderful drum is here tested under the same tuning (machine controlled by the must have tuning device www.tune-bot), hit with the same stick and by the same drummer.

Let's talk HEADS!

If you want a brighter spund go with the remo,.you get more stick click.. evans is a bit darker attack, from the thicker coating

THE HEADS ARE ESSENTIALLY THE SAME, IT'S 10 MIL MYLAR OR 2 7 MIL SHEETS.. WHAT IS DIFFERENT IS THE COATING... AQUARIAN COATING IS THE THICKEST, THEN EVANS AND REMO HAS THE THINNEST COATING.. THE THICKER THE COATING, THE FATTER THE ATTACK.. TAKE IT FROM ME

I think the evans are the best drum heads in the world but with this I don't say that remo are the worsts I say I prefer evans for they sound quality

...and , were these heads stretched before putting on drum? makes a big difference, but still pointless review. You have to get the FEEL, as well as sound.

it's so pointless doing "head comparisons". so many factors involved in how a drum will sound, regardless of head. drum material, room, mics, sticks, it's endless.

Remo is perfect for bass drums and snares but i love evans EC2's for toms. on another note does any one care to explain which drum company is the best in their opinion? I know pearl and DW are freaking huge and I love how much work DW seems to put in their drums but it seems as if mapex and tama sound better. I almost dont even want to believe my opinion when you compare the work DW ( and PDP) and Pearl do compared to other companies

My picks are the G1 over the Ambassador and the Emperor over the G2.

Hmmm i noticed a pitch change.. if it is tuned using a tunebot at least they have the same pitch. You must try using drum dial. and by the way.. Remo has a unique "seating" of the head.. hope you applied that before comparing. I like both though. Depends on the application.

Its really personal preferences and how you want your drums to sound, there both offer the same thickness of heads and same price. But i like evens because they last long and always sound good even after a year of playing.

Evans sound good on toms but I always liked Remo heads for my snare and bass drum

Evans is much better. Better Sound, better quality, better stability.

The first tune was decent. Not much drone. The it went to shit until you played with the G2. I prefer the tone the evans heads hit over the remos. The evans are naturally a bit higher pitched. As for snares i love the coated ambassador. :0
