i did listen to cool kid and strummin, those are both actually pretty awesome.and i was never questioning his songwriting. and as an instrumentalist? oh yeah he (and the rest of the band) are beast

I disagree. I mean, you should listen to Cool Kid, or Strummin', or No Future No Past, or No Sentiment, or cool thing... or anything. I think his regular singing is fine, his songwriting is unreal, and he is like, a beast instrumentalist, along with the rest of them. Moreover, "good" singing is relative, and I think his vocal offerings really fit the band and what they put together. It's raw, real, and relevant.

i love the band, they are awesome. not much a fan of the singing though, i mean he sounded great when he does wasted days, but nothing else really. probably because his screaming is good, but his regualr singing is bad, thus why this and wasted days are the best songs they got

Oh man, too much stuff to be constrained by 500 characters. Right now, I'm listening to Arabesque by Debussy, before that it was Ella by M.Ward. I'm loving the Potugal. The Man album that came out last year. I've also been listening to Sufjan Steven's The Age of ADZ (<3) and a band called The Cribs. One of my favorite songs by them is called Moving Pictures. To top it off, Distant Worlds - Fisherman's Horizon. It's music from Final Fantasy. I'm a mixed bag.

Fair enough. :-) I concur. I only heard this band for the first time today. What are a few bands that you love?

Oh, ok. Yeah, I like their sound too but to be honest I don't care for them at all. That may change one day but to be honest I don't feel like I'm missing out when I have a seemingly endless amount of music to explore for pretty much the rest of my life. Lol, when I think of it that way, life is pretty damn good.

I guess I didn't word that very well. I love the extended playing these guys do with no vocals. I hope that the singer will somehow grow on me but I kind of doubt that's going to happen. :-) I really love their sound though. Especially the guitars. It somehow reminds me of the Feelies. Anyone remember the Feelies??
