Hey Chris, this is Pat from Tobes....How are you? You still in Lafayette? Is this Clint singing, it really doesn't sound like I remember him?

I played with Clint for over seven years in the nineties. I can't tell you how many times I played "Big Blue Diamonds." As far as I know he no longer makes records. However, although his records are great, the best way to hear Clint is live. He's older now and I don't think he plays anymore. But anyone who ever saw the original Boogie Kings, or the various bands he formed, got a chance to see a great show. I'll always be proud that I was his guitarist for over seven years. When I first heard this song sung by Jacky Ward back in '72 I fell in love with it. But I like Clint's version better.

Great song...Clint...I think of Betty, your sis in law and lover, everytime I hear this song. I will never forget the drive from Houston to her funeral ~ ice all over, saw a truck load of deer with icilces from their racks on that trip. Thinking of you this holiday season Betty, you were tons of fun and lots of laughs.

Clint's version is as good as it gets; I'd put it up against Little Willie John's - and Gene Summers had probably the best "country" version - it was actually a country song FIRST - Gawd, Tex Ritter & Jimmy Dean(!) recorded it BEFORE Little Willy J, Clint, Gene and many others. Jackie Ward butchered it. But anyway, oh, yeah, Clint's version is awesome & I love the story from fireman70537 below - wonderful!
