Clint Black - We Tell Ourselves

In my mind, the 90's to the early 2000's was the era of the solo outro in country music. Garth brooks started it with Ain't Goin' Down (Til The Sun Comes Up), while the mavericks, dwight yoakam, alan jackson, Travis tritt, mark chesnutt, and Clint black chimed in with songs like all you ever do is bring me down, a thousand miles from nowhere, theblues man, modern day bonnie and Clyde, I'll think of something, and we tell ourselves, respectively.

Clint Black is/was the most underrated country artist of all time. He wrote some country anthems in "Better Man", "Put Yourself in My Shoes", "No Time to Kill", "State of Mind", and even "Nothing But the Taillights". He should be mentioned in the same breath as Haggard (his idol), Jennings and Nelson. If you disagree, watch "Where Are You Now".

Badass, hardcore country rock! Dang I forgot how hot he was before Lisa Hartman got a hold of him! I just rediscovered 2 other long lost country songs from the late 80's early 90s this past weekend. Now I'm on a retro country kick after 20 years! Hell even Vince Gill kicked ass with Liza Jane! Dan Seals, Love on Arrival and The Tractors, Baby Likes to Rock It!

Country music ended in the 90s. The Alan Jacksons, Travis Tritts, Clint Blacks, Patty Lovelesses, etc....are still barely barely with us. With the exception of Patty, even these guys are trying to keep up with the status quo. I'd love to see someone or some band resurrect hard core country music and put it back in its rightful place in America's musical genre. With the exception of Ashton Sheperd, I have no idea on what you call today's crap...but it sure isn't country. The "O" is gone.
