I absolutely love these two amazing artists! I only wish Clifford could have had a much, much longer career. He had so much to share. Just imagine what could have been created! It's a pity, but this is a great song that I absolutely love and I'm grateful he left us this fantastic chart along with so many others.

Clifford was incomparably brilliant. The two people who gave this a thumbs down shouldn't be allowed to hear his music.

Buon ascolto e buona serata a tutti.

WestSideOfJazzWritten for his wife, whom trumpeter Clifford often called his "Joy Spring", this is an example of why some consider the Brown and Max Roach partner the premiere bebop band until the untimely death of Brown in a tragic shipcar accident in 1956. That is why The Blackwell Guide to Recorded Jazz ranks it as "among the best of the short-lived quintet, which in its 2½ years of existence "left behind a body of music that encapsulates all the best virtues of hard bop."
