Cliff Richard & The Shadows - I could easily fall in love with you 2009

Released 1960

Aum aum aum aum

Aum aum aum aum

If you should tell me that I'll always be,

The one you'll always love so true.

Then I could tell you I could easily,

"I could easily fall in love with you."

It wasn't long ago that I saw you there.

But even then I thought I knew,

That given half a chance I'd easily,

"I could easily fall in love with you."

I've been too long on my ownsome now.

I've been too long by myself.

I couldn't feel more lonesome now.

If I was left on the shelf.

Don't ever change that smile you're smiling now.

And please don't let me see you blue.

Then I could tell you oh so easily,

"I could easily fall in love with you."

I've been too long on my ownsome now.

I've been too long by myself.

I couldn't feel more lonesome now.

If I was left on the shelf.

Don't ever change that smile you're smiling now.

And please don't let me see you blue.

Then I could tell you oh so easily,

"I could easily fall in love with you."

The incomparable Hank Marvin, and that simple, wonderful 3-chord lick. A model of the perfect 60s pop song. Cliff seems indestructible, and the Shadows are as tight a unit as they ever were. My other high points: the harmonies on the chorus and in the bridge ("If I was left on the shelf"). This live cut has real punch. Thanks for posting.

@ali4330 So prophetic and yes you were right. It would not have hurt these Christians would it, to have given Jet a couple of songs with them..... Not one bit!

Sir Cliff has a big class!! No man on this world will create so far (and so long!!!) like sir Cliff Richard. This song is miraculous, from my childhood and still as then incomparably, vividly and simply wonde... wonderfully. Bravo! :-)))...Lidia
