Do you remember the media fanning a comment made by Travis Tritt over Billy Ray's Achy Breaky song, they blew it up really big trying to make a big deal over it, I read it in a country music magazine a few years ago. Glad to see Travis still playing, but he's not hip enough for the radio

If you can't sing, they crank up the background singers, and/or autotune it

9She was rock in Canada but couldn't cut in when she came to the US, so hello Country label. BTW I recall the interview when Cledus was explaining how he called the Possum about doing this, George said well the damn thing should have been called that in the beginning, he was excited about doing it.

Hahahahahahahaha. I heard this for the first time today and only wish I would have heard it sooner. RIP George Jones, we all miss you but at least your music will live in our hearts forever.

But you were country when country used pop percussion and rock guitars, it seems. And DJ scratches? Hm.

Based on a true story, unfortunately. Garth and Shania made their millions and headed for the hills, leaving a hell of a mess for real country artists to clean up.
