Oh, God, I forgot how wonderful this was! Always loved how her voice drops in pitch on certain words, and how her accent remains. Don't know about you, but I find this makes her sound irresistibly sexy. [Not difficult: she is. I envy Paul Humphries of OMD] Anyhow, the best track from an exquisitely crafted album.

Such a "grand" song to end an outstanding solo album like "Love and a Million other Things". I, too, believe that 'Surprise' is probably the best track on the album. Is it it's lyrical minimalism or the sophistication/experimentation of the music. It's quite Kate Bush-like. It stays in your head forever. THANK you for posting.

This has always been my fav track from this album. Just given the cd a spin and this track two spins. she soundsvery Kate Bush like on this track. The CD is getting a rerelease on 16th August from those great people at Cherry Pop, with a bonus disc.
