Achille-Claude Debussy (1862-1918) was a French composer. Along with Maurice Ravel, he is considered one of the most prominent figures working within the field of Impressionist music, though he himself intensely disliked the term when applied to his compositions.

Debussy was not only among the most important of all French composers but also was a central figure in all European music at the turn of the twentieth century.

Debussy's music virtually defines the transition from late-Romantic music to twentieth century modernist music. In French literary circles, the style of this period was known as Symbolism, a movement that directly inspired Debussy both as a composer and as an active cultural participant.

Lovely interpretation of this piece. A very workman-like version; honest, without any pretense or self consciousness. Unique and pleasant to listen to. Thank you for posting.

Very, very beautiful version, the best I've heard so far.I consider most of the other interpretations on youtube as too fast, and it kills the music. This will be a good help for me to learn this piece.

I'm learning this piece as well, and I am having much trouble on playing the triplets (RH) and the eighth notes (LH) together. Anyone have any tips? Thanks!

beautiful. Just one thing. I think you should use the pedal more to create a better "flow" like a river. When I play this, i imagine a a small stream, flowing through the woods.

try to breath like you have bricks on your lungs. All the tension in ur lungs, focus and just let the feel come natural that way. Don't think too much.
