I remember hearing this as a kid and being spell-bound, as it changed my feelings about music forever. However, much as I like this version, I feel the original 1968 version still tops this one. This one just doesn't have quite the 'depth' and strength of the original, especially in the way the guitar is recorded and the orchestral backing being a little too staccato and somewhat limited. Close, Chip, but no cigar.
