I remember seeing this song on Headbanger's Ball, one night, about 7 years ago. It was one of the best songs I'd ever heard. I've loved machine head ever since.

I was so glad when BFMV cancelled their support gig and Machine Head took their place.

When I heard this song I thought: Welcome Back Machine Head! I gave up on them after Supercharger thinking that they were never going back to being a good band. Whatever was holding Rob back during The Burning Red and Supercharger has been shed and then some.

So basically what he's saying that if he didn't get sick this song would not be around. So glad he got sick.

This song really grabbed me when I was about 22, at a turning point in my life. Ditched my girlfriend, quit my job and packed up all my shit and moved out of Cali on a whim. Turned out to be the best decision of my life and marked the beginning of me growing up. What made me come to that decision was doing mushrooms for the first time and listening to this song in my bedroom. Lol. The ceiling was stucco, and the bumps all formed spinning red devil faces when the first verse kicked in and I just laid there, mesmerized, laughing my ass off. Every time I hear this song, it takes me back to that day and I feel just a ripple of that rebellious, free, liberated feeling I had then. Music is fucking AWESOME.

haha, I know exactly what he means in the beginning about having a verse/chorus written. I have shit tons of verse/choruses that were never taken anywhere. And all the really good ones I forgot to tab out and can't remember what they were. I also get mistaken for him at their shows but I just tell everyone I'm a stunt double, lol.

They are like wine, getting better with age. Unto the Locust is my favorite. Flynn is a real likeable dude. You can tell, he still likes, what he does and he is still musically ambitious.

This album got me into machine head. I was always into metal before but a lot of stuff I heard were from cds my brother had with typical stuff like metallica, priest, maiden, ozzy and the more popular heavy bands like slayer and cannibal corpse. It probably wasn't until I saw machine head tour with chimaira and trivium opening up for them in 03, I believe, that I found out metal could be more than just thrash and growling. It could be melodic, incorporate singing, and sound like actual songs, not just music for metal heads, but something anyone could find enjoyment in. After I saw this tour I immediately searched for more machine head stuff, which lead to kse, which lead to children of bodom, and so on and so forth

Machine Head is my #1 favorite band, but I don't think they're "one of metal's greatest and most important". Almost nobody knows them, when I talk to people...Then again, I am in Tennessee. That may affect it.
