Life is barren and dry or it’s lush green. A lot depends on how well and how often you water it. Nothing comes from nothing, nothing ever could. Keki.

I find this song sad. When his father died, he had to take charge. That meant giving up a huge portion of his life not to mention his childhood.

To whom this may concern,  I believe you people wanted some more "poop" on my "pop!"  Well, here goes "nuttin' honey(s)":    Whenever dear old dad wanted to sound "hip," he would use the term "bummer" to express aggravation at anything displeasurable!  This wouldn't have been bad back in 1968, but he adopted that "phraseology" in 1988!  And when we would "go with the (speed) boat" to The Lake of the Ozarks,  again, he would embarrass his offspring by indicating our arrival at a "dock of the bay" to gas up the old "girl" by exclaiming "ahoy there!"   (And at the time, we weren't even in need of cookies!  "Chips Ahoy!") That dad o' mine  --  what a cad!  Er, card!  Another of his "faults" was when he tried to say, "yippie-doo," but it always came out "yippie-DEE!"   A small enough peccadillo admittedly, but every stinking day of our lives, c'mon dad!  And he always referred to Merv Griffin as "Marv!"  And granted, Merv was a "marv"-elous entertainer but again, for our whole lives!  C'mon, daddie dearest, "wake up and smell the coffee!"  Which reminds me, he used to dunk  his  peanut-butter sandwiches in his morning "joe!"  And I suppose my middle-name, Joseph, was a result of that "indefensible" habit!  And finally, he used to gobble butter-bread and (raw) radishes, a trait I think he acquired in his youth coming, as he did, from a German-American family!  But to this "hip" but sensitive boy, it was almost too much to bear!  Anyway people, that's it from down here on the (funny) farm!  I guess you could say this "hick" can't "hack" it anymore!
