Nice recomendations! I love both Capercaillie and Loreena McKennitt. Back in the early 90s I bought The Visit on a whim when it came out and was stunned by Loreena's wit and talent for worldly storytelling and harp work. And Capercallie I found through the Green Linnet music order catalogue... again on a whim. I was thrown back by Karen's clear voice and the amazing album Sidewaulk! LOL this was back in the early 90s children when people ordered things through the mail.....

Try the band called Capercaillie with Karen Matheson. They are a Scottish band that also sing in Gaelic and English. They are a younger band but quite as brilliant as Clannad. You might also try Loreena McKennitt, a Canadian female singer of Irish and Scotttish parentage. Her early stuff is very Irish in its style but she has gone on to develop her own unique style.

I was talking to one of the Brennan brothers in their family pub in Gweedore, he was running the bar. I asked him why he didn't join the band, he laughed and told me he should have stuck in a bit better at those 'feckin piano lessons' ! I nearly fell off my bar stool !

such a brill song =p didnt realise this was from 1985 omg i love this sound from clannad, they hav such a gd mix of all sorts of styles, this is wat i like to call their fleetwood mac sound =p love it, and Moya looks so amazing with her perm haha love it! x

@bookkeeper57 May have on the video but the electric guitar solo on the recording was played by Anto Drennan (best known as lead guitar for the Corrs & work with Moving Hearts, Genesis & Mike & the Mechanics as well as Moya's solo work).
