on his first 2 records I'm fairly sure he played all the instruments. It wasn't really till Little Hell that he started having other people play with him very much and maybe not even on the actual album. But just because you haven't officially seen something saying he played drums in this band or what ever you shouldn't assume he just doesn't many musicians to write music take up a bunch of instruments that they never play live or on camera
