"it only matters on YouTube." Which is what I thought we were talking about here... Hmmm I must have missed something. Am I on 4chan? Also since my post well over a year ago YouTube has converted this video into 360p(kept the same audio, just adjusted the resolution). Anyway the point I'm making can be proven just by watching a good lossless quality upload, if you change video quality the audio quality will change noticably. I got my info from YouTube's own information so they must be wrong.

Wow this is in old comment, great job buddy. The truth is your completely wrong. On YouTube audio and sound quality are tied together because of bandwidth requirements. Some can only load 240p video. Now you're not going to get lossless quality audio out of 240p. because that would require more bandwidth. 240 to 480p has a audio limit of 128kbps where as 720p and 1080p are at 384kbps. YouTubes encoders make sure the videos meet the standards.

The quality of the audio is affected by the video quality as well. YouTube converts their videos for low bandwidth and the available quality settings are based on the original quality of the video. If you use crappy video they compress the audio to match. Hence why you can get better audio quality at 1080p and 720p and most songs sound like crap at 240p.
