Perform in Spain

El primer vinilo que cayo en mis manos fue de Chuck Berry y al escuchar temazos como el Promised Land y sus riffs de guitarra, nada volvio a ser igual. Nada mejor para comenzar la semanita!

If you took a 20 year old who did not know both singers and asked which version do you like best? 9 out of 10 would pick Elvis !

chuck wrote more songs than just about anyone, and most all current rockabilly bands include at least one Berry song in their set list. Elvis did a great version, but I never saw him duckwalk!!!Hail-Hail rockabilly!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, and I always enjoyed Elvis. However, Chuck Berry is really the King of Rock n' Roll. Right?

I don't have a favorite when it comes to this and the Elvis version. The song was incredible with both their styles. Whenever I lean toward one I watch the other and I'm right back on the fence.

Probably the best version of this song is this version. I like this even better than the original. I want to know what the bass player is doing during the changes on Chucks first solo. Where the **** did the 4 chord go?? I just don't feel the same energy in Elvis's version as Chucks. Plus Mr. Berry does have very good time on this and drives it just right on his guitar,. Elvis's versions are a bit fast, but hey he liked it different I guess, kind of loses the groove on this particular song to play it faster like that. Then again Elvis didn't have to play the main driving guitar part and sing at the same time so, the feel is really different. Not to mention the cool fact that Chuck re-invents his vocal phrasing and melody's in subtle ways on this by offsetting some of his lyrical phrases to start on the "and" of a beat.
