Thanks to God we have the most wonderful memories of driving through roads flanked by really tall trees; choirs sing such praises to our Lord's birth, walking through Munich ion Icy cold ,snowy days with a "Grog" stand offering the hot drink, and of course the cannons going off on the alms and the warmth serving diners served before fireplaces,All the chalets in the Tirol and Alps covered with snow and riding in a one horse open sleigh through Kitzbuhel.Oh yse, the Christkindermarts in every city , town and village. Wonderful large and small ,obcure and famous choirs sing in the churchees.

It's beautiful, but some of the translations aren't accurate. Still, it brings back memories of my childhood. Love this song, it just means Christmas to me. :)

i so agree, it reminds me of our "Advents we would have with my mom and dad, i remeber listening to my mom sing along wth this song whil i watched the flickering candles..it brings tears to my eyes to see something this precious being lost in the hustle and bustle which is now christmas.....thank you!

Vielen Dank fuer die vertrauten Weihnachtslieder, es macht die Trennung von der Heimat weniger traurig waehrend dieser Jahreszeit.

@1a1ms As with many foreign carols, the English lyrics aren't really a translation, but rather similar lyrics written to fit the existing melody. I do agree that the true translation is better though.
