I saw him live in a little place up here in Victoria, BC called the Strathcona Hotel, and he was amazing! It was an amazing show back in the day. Sad that we have lost another.

There was a raw, primal sense of spirituality to Chris Whitley's music that sucked me in from the first note. This song, about a place of perfect love, was among his best. I saw him live twice. He was always surrounded by an army of guitars, some of them held together with duct tape. But he was a true craftsman, who knew what was special about the sound of each one.
