I compared the two as old guys singing live. I think Farnham has a "sweeter" voice and I prefer him on the down tempo. But, I prefer Thompson nailing the higher tempo "Power Cords". This is no doubt why Farnham is backup singer heavy here. Considering the chorus is the most important part of the song, I have to give the edge to Thompson. Chris Thompson sung one of the best songs of the 70´s: "Blinded by the light" a cover of Bruce Springsteen´s song. He was the voice of Manfred Mann´s Earth Band, and in the album Watch he wrote some songs and sung in all the tracks. He´s a hell of a singer, my friends.

@FuTiPi I saw Chris sing this with alan Parsons on the 1995 tour and he nailed it with passion and precision. His intonation was just great. I think He sounds great here, never dodges the high notes. John Farnham has a stellar voice and may have done the definitive version in most people's minds, but I actually prefer Thompson. Check out the studio version on the APP 1995 live album bonus track.
