a few points here... 1. I wasn't forcing my opinion on anyone 2. I agree that Newgrass and Bluegrass are 2 separate entities 3. Everyone on that stage minus Chris Thile played the melody in some form or other (and of course a normal banjo break has very little of the melody in it. unless they play a melodic style and I'm sure that even though that is the melody you wouldn't like it either since it isn't traditional bluegrass) oh yea...and I'm not quite tone deaf.
