I come from the North West of England. It is rare that I get to hear Outlaw Country that is this good. I bought his album called 'The Jealous Kind' after hearing it on the radio. I was knocked out by it.Time passed & I forgot about it as I have a decent sized record collection & catholic tastes that mean that I move around the contemporary music scene. I do not know what made me look him up again but I was even more impressed by his later work. I love 'Down the River', 'William' & 'Becky's Bible' especially. I am envious of you guys who get to hear music this good on a daily basis. My only minor criticism is that Chris's albums are really expensive in the UK. I managed to order 3 more CD's by going outside the usual suppliers like Amazon & buying used CD's which are really good value for money.I have managed to see some giants of country music like Willie Nelson, Steve Earle, Emmy Lou Harris, Mavericks, Nancy Griffith & Gretchen Peters but tickets are really expensive. I used to be able to see less well known singers such as Tom Russell, Tom Pacheco, Ray Wiley Hubbard, Kinky Friedman, Carire Newcomer, Slaid Cleaves, Kevin Welch & Kevin Montgomery but it seems to be uneconomic for them to come to the UK to perform.There are some singer songwriters that can tell a story in a 3 minute song using heart wrenching lyrics but there are not that many of them. Chris is up there with the best of them. By that I mean Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Van Morrison, Roy Orbison, Bruce Springsteen & James Taylor.You guys are really fortunate to be able to see such top of the tree performers on a regular basis.
