Here's the thing about this grand old ballad. One can not just listen. You've got to join in with a second, third, or fourth part. This can only be recorded as a single voice if it is intended that the listener join in. That's the law; you can look it up. My first recollection of this song, though I might be mistaken, was in the movie "The Grapes Of Wrath". Produced by Darryl F. Zanuck, it was Hollywood's adaptation of John Steinbeck's famous novel.
