I just lost my mother to cancer in February. She had end stage Copd and suffered for many years from the effects of smoking. I love that Chris has such a loving and kind heart. Somehow it doesn't surprise me at all about him. If his lyrics come from his heart then he is one hell of a great man.

Unfortunately when i was a teen in the 70s they didn't put anything on the packets and the advertising suggested you're cool etc if you smoke. Being an impressionable 13 yr old we all smoked thinking we were cool and "adult"

that's why they put "smoking kills" on every package, but they still sell them. it's sort of an induced suicide for people, whereas they make tons of money for selling something that sooner or later will kill you. indeed it is an evil drug. btw 'they' stands for tobacco firms, if anyone's wondering...

Yes, thats how i did it the first 3 times, the last time i went for a year almost, till christmas celebrations came and i'm with mates/ family and a few beers, then bang, smoking again just like that. Even after almost a year, i'd be stopped at the traffic lights and someone would be smoking in a car 2 lanes over and i can smell it and want one. For me i think this whole bs "war on drugs" is a lie/joke, more ppl die from smoking around the world than smack,meth,coke combined. Cigs r an evil drug

Yes it does, you are right, cold turkey is jumping straight off whatever it is you're using. Not using any other drugs to help withdrawl, not coming off slowly, just bang, you stop and hangout. I've done this many times when i got locked up a few times for being a junky

Well i've done both many times and i can assure you that smoking is way harder to kick than smack. I'm on my 4th round at giving smokes up, each time i've gone a little longer but it's always niggling in the back of your mind. Whereas with the heroin, once i'd had a gutful of the lifestyle, crime, prison, many dead friends, girls i've known since childhood becoming hookers and being bashed and murdered, it was relatively easy compared to cigarettes. I haven't used for 15 yrs but i still smoke
