Why Chris changed the lyrics in this performance ?*he changed "I'm only faking when I get it right" with "Sunspots have faded and now I'm doing time"

Bens face at 3:21- I'm so glad I'm in a band with this guy again. Chris the whole time- I'm so glad I'm in a band with this guy again. Jason Everman- fuck all of you,I was in Soundgarden AND Nirvana and the only person who mentions me is this fucking nobody loser on YouTube.

Ok I know there's irony in what I'm about to say. Chris is such a consummate professional that when he forgets the end of the second verse I think he catches himself and he fully commits as if that's what he was planning to do. Besides, they're his lyrics and he can do whatever he wants with them, when a song is recorded and released it doesn't mean it's done. Songs evolve over the years, with some bands a studio version and a live version of the song are two completely separate things. Some people get angry about that but I like not just hearing something I've already heard exactly the same way when I see a band. And even Chris' mistakes can make me cry where someone else's perfect rendition might not even affect me
