What i marvel at is not only the song but the expressions of the singer and the guitarist. It goes so well with this lilting summery wave of a song. And the simple dressing. It all goes together. Ahhh.......

Great song of course but what makes this video so awesome is the people in the audience choking back on the sweet, drowning fog machine vibes at the start. I think Gary and Eddie are even slightly cracking up at this at the start.

Much credit should go to the producer of Flaunt the Imperfection, Walter Becker. This album definitely has a Steel Dan stamp on it!

@satelitejameson Strangely, of the first five albums, I like WWF&SPPSV2 least. This isn't to say I dislike it. Quite the opposite. But my two tied favourites are DS&PRSPTIFTE (which is how I fell in love with their music, No More Blue Skies being the hook which pulled me in) and Flaunt the Imperfection, without a doubt. Diary of a Hollow Horse comes in a close second (third?), and then What Price Paradise (which, like WWF&S, is great, but less played).

OMG. searched for this for so long. I taped this and my mother taped 'Take the High Road', over it. Gutted cannot describe how I felt! So, so, so love this song!

@ctspf - don't know who said it, although i have heard Martin Fry of ABC say it. WWF&S is a great album too, as is Flaunt the imperfection, the production definately picked up on those 2 albums, but for raw songwriting, Difficult shapes has it for me. It's all personal though, there are some great songs on all of those albums. A VERY underatted band.

@jezzyby47 Elvis Costello said that, didn't he? Well, for most bands it's true, but though "Difficult Shapes" is excellent, IMHO "Working with fire and steel" is even better.

China Crisis spread entire and full emotions for our ears along the 80's. I began to hear about them with Christian and their fabulous first LP at that time when romantic and softness attitude was present in Brit Pop. Even now their timeless songs make me feel joyful when i listen about them... :) NathLorda International Makeup Artist
